ideas on what Defensive Driver Training is. Some hope it will help them
be able to get them selves out of trouble on the road. This is known as
Collision Avoidance Training. This is where, having driven yourself into
trouble, it is hoped that you will have the car control skill necessary
to "get yourself out of trouble". While there is a place for this sort
of "Advanced" Driving Course, it's not what we do.

Drive Smart Defensive
Driving Courses are about learning how to stay out of trouble on the
roads. If you are skilled and smart enough to stay out of trouble in the
first place, you should never need to call on any collision avoidance
skills.
Our defensive driver
training courses are conducted in our car or yours, out on the roads in
real life traffic situations. You don't have to sit in a lecture room
with 20 other would be defensive drivers. It is just you and your Drive
Smart Defensive Driving Instructor working on what you need most to help
you become a safe, smart thinking driver.
You will learn what to
expect other drivers to do and how to not be there when they do it. You
will learn where to look, what to look for and when to look so that you
are safe.

By the way,
Learner Drivers who choose to
take a full course of lessons with a Drive Smart Driving School
Instructor have these defensive driving skills and training
included in their Learner lessons.
Defensive Driving Courses

First we have a look at how
you drive. Then we work at helping you to become a safer, smarter
driver. After the session, you practice what you have learnt.
The second session builds on
what you learnt in the first. Practice, keep up what you learn and you
will be way ahead of most drivers.

Corporate Driver Training
Courses for individuals and small groups can be tailored to suit a
range of needs. Assessment and reporting available.
Courses are held over one,
two or three 2 hour sessions rather than having every thing crammed into
one day. Drivers are far more likely to remember and use what they
learn. Better value and less disruptive.
Our Trainers come to your
work place at times that suit you and your team. We offer minimum
disruption because we don't take the whole work group at once or for the
whole day.
Gravel Road Option
Country and Gravel Road Confidence
and Defensive Driving Courses Available
Australia has millions of kilometres
of gravel and dirt roads. At some stage all drivers will be faced with
driving on one. We can help you be prepared. Lessons will be of at least
two hours, but usually they are booked as a 3 hour session with a break
somewhere in the middle, and include:

difference between gravel and bitumen

road types and surfaces
